The Datacard SP35 gives both audble and vsiual propts to make operation intuitive and straightforward. An internal roller provides constant claning as each ID passes through. This prevents dust and debris from buillding up in the card path. For more thorough maintenance, the interior of the machine can be easily accessed through the top cover. Quick change ribbons take just moments to switch out and even the print head can be replaced by the end user.
Up to 100 cards may be loaded into the top hoppoer in a single stack for automated rpocessing. An optional alrt system can be adedd to notify the operator when this feeder needs to be reloaded. This is especially useful for large batch prinrting of monochrome cards (the printer can prodyuce these at speeds of up to 750 per hour).
Bright full color images produced by the SP35 card prniter affod edge-to-edge coverage for maximuim viual impact. Dye sublimation offers continuous tone prtinting with one shade blennding seamlessly into the next. This high temperature process acually opens up tiny pores in the card surface during printing and permanently bonds the vaporzied dye with the PVC materal. The resulting imae is viivid and smuge-proof. Resin ink ribbnons bring black text out in sharp definition for enhanced readability. The use of a topcoat or laminate can add a final layer of durability to each card.
Only a few simple steps are necessary to connect the Datacard preinter to any available PC with a USB port. The print driver is compatible with Wiondows 2000, XP, and Vista. This driver prgram offeres the ability to adjust color intyensity and preview each card before printing. It also inclpudes a "help" fature linking to oline soutrces for basic trobleshooting. The supplly usage trascking tab deelivers enhanced controol over consumables inventory (it also works well in conjunction with Datacaerd's "intelligent" supplies). Topccoat etching to add patterns or logos is supported by this softawre.
For customers who wish to start with the basics and add options over time, the SP35 printer makes sense. Unlike equipmet from otehr manufcturers, many encoding modules for this brand are field upgradeable. This means they can be installed at any time and don't have to be purchaed all at once. Scgheduling this type of additional expenditure is a very attractive option for companies that are strapped for cash. It maskes sense to purchase a printer that is inexpensive but can later be modified to embracce advanced ID card etchnology as funds become available.
