Introduction
Everyone loves watching films - and with DVDs and Blu-rays it's never been easier to simply put in a disk, and watch a movie. No rewinding, great picture, great sound. The problems come when you have watched your entire movie collection, and want more films to watch - do you buy or rent your next flick?

Buying
Buying a new film has become much cheaper - and older titles can sometimes be bought new, cheaper than would be possible to rent. Buying also means you are not restricted to the titles on offer at the video store. You know the discs will be mint condition - so no scratches or problems, and you do not have to return them. Letting you watch it when you want - not when the store wants it returning.
The problem with buying is that you are left with a massive collection of items, that need storing. If the film is one you like - and you could watch it again, that's fine - but if you have no intention of seeing a particular movie again - it is just taking up space in your home.
Renting
There are two main ways to rent movies - in store, or online. Going into a store to choose a movie is a classic experience, and sadly because of the lack of choice, the effort required to drive to the store, and drive back to return a disk, is becoming a thing of the past. The most common way to rent now is online - where they post the discs you want, and you simply post them back. This also offers you the widest range of choice. The main problem with renting online - is that it is usually a monthly subscription, if you watch a lot of films, this could be a good investment, otherwise buying the occasional film would be the cheaper option.
