Removing Facial Scars

Facial scars can be a painful barrier that leave you depressed, antisocial, self-conscious and filled with anxiety over social obligations. With your face being your physical manifestation to the rest of the world, it is often driven into us that we must look our best at all times. Pressure to be “perfect” means even more discomfort with your appearance, especially if you suffer from scarring. Removing facial scars can be your first step to improving not only your looks, but your overall quality of life. You will feel better about your appearance, and you will exude more confidence because you are not spending time worrying about why people may be looking at you. This change will not only change your face, but will change your life.

There are many steps you can take to have your scars permanently reduced or diminished. The most drastic step is surgery, where a plastic surgeon literally cuts away the protruding part of your facial skin and either stitches it back together (if small enough) or replaces segments with new skin. There are chemical peels and laser treatments, which burn the upper layers of the skin off in hopes of regenerating more even skin tissue. These steps can be invasive, painful and expensive, and if you keep looking you might find that silicone can be just as effective, and way less involved.

Removing facial scars can be accomplished through the use of InvisiScar® . At Scarout, they carry many different sizes of this easy to use, silicone infused pad. This new technology is applied right over the scar tissue to gradually dissolve it away. You cut the sheets to accommodate the scar, with a ¼ to ½ inch area around the patch for adhesion with hypoallergenic tape (included). Generally, the longer a scar has been on your body, the longer it will take to disappear. Through diligent use and careful following of the detailed instructions, you may not only see a difference in the visible texture, color and look of the scar, but it can get softer and less protuberant to the touch. Silicone can be an inexpensive, effective tool in your skincare arsenal, especially if you are trying to remove facial scars. With the scars gone or even just diminished, your whole outlook changes. You become more confident, less paranoid about what others may think of your appearance, and hold general feeling of self-improvement.

Do some research online and ask friends who have successfully used silicone patches such as InvisiScar®. You might be surprised at how effective and inexpensive this option is, especially when compared to laser or plastic surgery, which can be extremely costly, cause redness and swelling, and can equal a painful, long recovery. Silicone scar treatments can reduce the appearance of just about any type of scar. Many other over-the-counter scar treatments have been introduced as well, including gels, creams, and oils; however, silicone scar treatments remain the only clinically-proven remedy for removing facial scars.
