Remove Keloid Scars

Keloid scars occur when atypical tissues grow around an injured part of the skin. When the healing process works through the different layers of skin, collagen takes over and fills in blanks where needed, sometimes causing keloid scars. There are a number of reasons for scarring in the first place, including injury, tattooing, piercing, burns, surgery, and acne. Symptoms include abnormal appearance of healing skin, dark coloration around the healing area, itching, swelling, tenderness, and hard, rubbery, raised scar tissue upon compete healing. These scars develop most often on the chest, back, shoulders, and earlobes, and although they rarely develop on the face (with the exception of the jawline), they occur in visible areas of the skin. For this reason, most patients prefer to remove keloid scars before they hinder their personal or social interactions.

In the vain world of today, keloid scars can be perceived as unsightly and it can be embarrassing to have visible scars when you go out and about. Your self-esteem can suffer, you may become extremely self-conscious and avoid social interactions, and your emotional well-being can be affected to the point where you no longer wish to socialize. You can feel like everyone is staring at you, and not in a good way. You might feel like you are missing out on social events or opportunities at work because of your looks. Be kind to yourself and look for solutions that are effective, safe and affordable. To remove keloid scars, one needs to do a little research into their causes, and the various treatment options available.

Among the options available is surgical intervention, where a plastic surgeon actually removes the scar tissue and either sutures the site back together, (if it is small enough) or places new skin in the area removed. Laser surgery accomplishes many of the same goals, and acid can be applied as an attempt to reduce the hardened areas of the scar tissue. All of these options promise invasive (although usually effective) action, with painful recovery time and relatively high expense.

Other options include steroid injections, which have been proven to be a problematic option in clinical trials, and collagen injections, which might work at first, but are not determined as a permanent solution. There is a multitude of homeopathic remedies you may want to try to remove keloid scars, but perhaps something readily available and proven as a gentle and effective treatment would be more appealing to the average patient.

Before doing anything drastic, consider silicon patches. InvisiScarĀ® from Scarout offers a solution in a pad that fits precisely over the location of your keloid scar. Silicon-infused pads deliver scar medicine that can not only reduce the appearance of keloid scar tissue, but can actually make the skin softer to the touch. They are available in a variety of sizes and after carefully reading the enclosed instructions can be easily self-applied. Reaction times may vary and you can expect to see results in just a few short weeks. If these scars are visible, it is especially important to start treatment right away, both for your appearance and your state of well-being in general. Dont remove keloid scars without first trying an easy, manageable solution. You feel better when you look better, and your self-confidence will shine through your social interactions as well as personal connections.
