Our boss may not be the best person for us but we should admit it that he is helping us earn a living. If you're lucky, he's someone you look up to and his achievements are things you wish you could achieve for yourself. Now, how can you show him that he is appreciated? Have you ever given him something for his birthday? Most employees do not even remember their boss' birthdays.
This is a common mistake - employees giving presents to their boss because they are up on a promotion. This is a big mistake. Remembering his birthday is a way of reminding him that you do appreciate his constant reminders on how to do your job right. However, a neck tie or a cake won't do him justice. You can do better than that. Give him something extraordinary, something unique. The following are some ideas:

Computer gadget- Even if your boss is not that technologically savvy, or he just don't have the time to buy one, he will surely appreciate if you can give him something like a protector for his monitor. You can find a lot of different gadgets online. Get one that you are sure that your boss will need.
2. Good book - People who are accomplished would probably love to have a good book. Your boss is one of those people. Try to shop for book online. You will surely find one that your boss would love.
3. Gift basket- The great thing about gift baskets is, you will be provided with the option to choose what to place in them. You can put there fruits, chocolates or anything you feel like giving in a bunch. The most important thing here is that you know what your boss likes. If he has a sweet tooth, then order a basket full of chocolates of various kinds and sizes. If he is conscious about the food eat he eats, choose something healthy and nutritious like a variety of fruits. You can also consist of a birthday greeting card with a handwritten note on it to make it more personal.
One more thing to keep in mind is to give your boss a gift or token without expecting anything in return. After all, gifts should be given at one's own free will and to expect to be reciprocated for one's action defeats the whole spirit of gift-giving.
Author Resource:-Chocolate gift baskets make great gifts for anyone, be it a boss, a friend, relative or even a partner. What's special about gift baskets is, when people get them, they don't think about what's inside. They just focus on the warm thoughts that came with them.
