The name given for the Rugby Union scandal which happened on 12 April 2009 during the quarter final belonging to the Heineken Cup between the English team Harlequins with the Irish side Leinster.
It was during this match that Harlequins wing Tom Williams came over field and even blood pouring for this his mouth. It became apparent that this supposed injury had been actually faked, the blood being caused to the use of blood capsules. It appears this was done in order to make a vital substitution.

It was also pointed out during an investigation to the European Rugby Cup (ERC) along with Rugby Football Union (RFU) that such ‘injuries’ had been faked by Harlequins on a quantity of occasions to the past.
One with the many persons for the centre in the scandal in question was Dr Wendy Chapman, who worked as Harlequins club doctor. It was seen that she had cut the lip of starting a player Tom Williams in an attempt to cover up the faked injury by trying in making it look genuine. Whilst discussing Dr Chapman’s role within the scandal the disciplinary panel discovered that: “That is not the case of this General Medical Council that she had been party on the planning in addition to the finishing up for the cheating. She had no knowledge or active participation in it.” Her role came about directly after the events of beginning a main controversy.
Harlequins winger Tom Williams had been questioned through the hearing by Mary O’Rourke, who had been representing Wendy Chapman. O’Rourke built the claim that Dr Chapman was the truth is a victim of Mr. Williams’ actions because he dragged her into the dishonest plot. Mr. Williams admitted this had been your own personal fair assessment.
However the GMC highlighted Wendy Chapman’s dishonest behaviour in relation regarding fact she had previously not mentioned the lip cutting incident whilst being questioned in the ERC. The panel distinguished that her actions gave her profession any negative image.
Yet, the Chairman on the panel Brian Alderman detected that before the incident she had been suffering you get along with the severe depression. It had been also noticed that she had been awaiting the results of tests for breast cancer, not to mention recovering with the cancer surgery. He went on to say that had it not been for her specialized state of mind she would not possess acted around the way that she did.
Furthermore, the panel proclaimed that she was not your individual risk about the public, or her patients. He noted that “The panel accepts that there's a public interest in retaining the services of your personal good doctor”.
Winding up the enquiry on the 1st September 2010, the GMC issued your own warning for the club doctor Dr Wendy Chapman in relation to her role the scandal.
