Truly loving husbands want nothing but the best for their wives. When the wife says that her desire is a medical career and not a mink coat, then we'll see if the husband is a true man. He brings his wife closer to her dreams by putting her through medical school. He further notes that a woman, just because she's married, shouldn't think that her life has come to an end. If a woman wants to go for something that will make her a better wife and person, they she should seize it. He believes his wife is a better woman and wife because of her career.
And few people know the depth of the moral and financial support he was ready to stake on this belief. With his hairstyling abilities, this vital young man with sensitive brown eyes opened his own business. The pocketbook as well as the emotions carried the burdens from this decision. It meant a 300 mile separation. Since married women are not prioritized by most coed schools' admission board, his wife only got an acceptance at a woman's medical school in far out Philadelphia.

He was unable to be with her in Philadelphia even if he badly wanted to, for he couldn't forsake his thriving enterprise. Jestingly, he shares that the only baby in Norfolk to have a medical degree is their beloved 10 month old daughter. His wife was just three months on the way with their daughter the day she received her medical degree. She is once again back at De Paul Hospital to do her residency in pathology and she recounts that this was also the place where she had her internship. Their second child will arrive in a few month's time so she is making up for lost time.
While she studied medicine, they would often sense the demoralizing head of money difficulties rear in. Kenny had to handle two households. The phone bills truly made Kenny shell out so much. Each time that she would long for her husband or when doubts on whether her doctor dreams are still worth the sacrifices, she would call him up. She was able to make it with her husband's pep talks. She had forty hours in her hand during her internship but she only gets to spend 8 hours of it at home. She cherishes the time when the maid leaves and she has one on one time with her baby. Her sentiment is that if more fathers are involved in caring for their children, then they could grow closer to each other.
The sweet baby was given her first bath by her father. When we came from the hospital, it was my husband who took over, she proudly avers. It seemed perfectly natural for him. When I offered my help, my husband even got so nervous. I work at an almost regular schedule she clarifies, and a daytime one. The hours are longer than most people work, but I get home for dinner and the evening with my husband and the baby. When given the chance to do what you love most, you don't need to ask for anything more.
