The Gherkin, London, England
30 St Mary Axe can be nicknamed the 'Gherkin' a result of its shape and colour. It's one of London's most famous skyscrapers and is often featured on montages of London in the media programs. The Gherkin has also been featured in several films, including Basic Instinct 2, Match Point and Harry Potter and also Half Blood Prince.

The Gherkin replaces the Baltic Exchange building, which was severely damaged in April 1992 by an IRA bomb.

The building's top level (and that is the 40th floor) is known for a bar for tenants and their guests. This offers a formidable 360-degree panoramic view of London. In combination with the bar, the building also features a restaurant and several other private dining rooms.

In 2005, a survey placed the Gherkin for the reason that 'most admired new building from the world.' This survey was printed by the 2006 BD World Architecture 200 publication.
The Louvre, Paris, France
The glass pyramid, which was designed by architect I.M.Pei as part of the Grand Louvre renovation plan, started off being a controversial addition towards site. People felt of the fact that glass pyramid was far too futuristic of the museum and several thought it looked from place. Fortunately, the controversy soon dropped along with the structure soon became an accepted, enjoyed architectural landmark in Paris.

The pyramid was constructed with nothing but glass segments and it reaches 20.6 meters high.

The pyramid helps to handle the large number of tourists the museum gets.

The pyramid has quite a few myth surrounding it, from a rumor saying there are 666 glass panels, (that is certainly 'the number of the beast,') to links with Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code.
Hallidie Building, California, USA
This building is necessary see - it's is famous for being America's first building to feature glass curtain walling.
The Hallidie building is found on Sutter Street, in California.
American Architect Willis Polk designed the Hallidie building as well as the building work was completed around 1918.
Currently the building is occupied by San Francisco chapters from the American Institute of Architects, AIGA, Center for Architecture + Design, the US Green Building Council, and Charles M Salter Associates,Inc
The building was named after Cable Car inventor Andrew S Halladie.
