Want to Work from Home? Try Blogging!

I have often talked about my excellent fortune in becoming caught up with personal computers in the early days of their existence.  I am a junkie for facts and figures and I go for organization and structure, so I was addicted from the start.  I got paid for indulging these inclinations in my former career, so I became competent at them.  However, I had a couple of other infatuations, as well:  I secretly liked design and writing.  My employment with personal computers gave me the means to engage in these interests but I didn't have the time until I retired from my first career.  If your narrative is akin to mine, you may want to become involved in blogging, like me.

"Blog" is a contraction of the words "web log" that is a type of diary that one produces on the Internet.  It doesn't have to be one of those "secret" types of diaries; it can be any variety of material that one puts out in a chronological manner.  A blog can hold as much or as little benefit to potential adherents as you wish.  On the other hand, if your purpose is to ultimately make some cash from the blog, you have to publish something that attracts folks to the website.  Making cash, of course, is what this blog is about:  work from home jobs.

Blogging differs from free-lance writing:

Its installments are perpetual, without end.  Blogging generally has a topic but the "chapters" (or "posts") don't lead to a close, or climax.  Each column is a commentary on the blog subject matter that begins and finishes within itself.

It is "stream-of-consciousness" writing.  If you want to skip from one idea to another like a Ferlinghetti poem, go right ahead.  However, if you want to organize your posts in some way before you start, that's even better.  Some individuals are attracted to free verse, some are attracted to structure.  In addition, you can purpose the long-term results as the starting point for an actual "book," or related traditional publication.

You can work without deadlines  You can without doubt impose writing objectives and deadlines on yourself if you wish, but you do not have to do so.  You can write a column five days in a row or skip a week.  You set the schedule.

It doesn't have any particular fiscal value.  If you call yourself a "freelancer" you mean that you expect to be remunerated for a specific piece of work.  Rarely, bloggers do get compensated for their blogging labor, but it is customarily in the form of subscriptions.  As I said formerly, it is workable to assemble some of your posts into larger publications and present them for sale, but there is no assurance of income.  Generally, however, you don't propose to "sell" a blog.  You can, however, sell advertising room on it.  Offering blog advertising is one of the preeminent methods to begin to make money from home

Blogs are very low-cost and simple to start. This is one of their biggest advantages.  If you have access to a personal computer and an Internet link, and you can string a few comprehensible sentences together, you can blog.

You can start blogging in numerous ways.  I suggest beginning with a free of charge "hosted" blog in which more or less everything apart from the authoring is ready for you.  I'm choosing a system called "Blogger" to illustrate this approach, but there are many others.

The Internet search giant Google owns and operates Blogger, which can be found at http://www.blogger.com.  When you land on the site you will be encouraged to log in with your Google account ID.  If you don't have a Google account you will be proveded the chance to enroll for one. As soon as you are signed up and signed in you will be creating your first post on a fully operational blog within a very short time.  Well, let's start!
