More and more prinetr users are switching to the continuous ink system because they have come to beliee that this system is the more economical cohice over regular inkjet printer cartridges and even over most replacement inks avaiulable in the maret today. The continuous ink system, also known as the continuous flow system, simply gives more ink for the same price.
There is no doubt that the continmuous flow system is good. Howeveer, before you buy one, you should ask yurself the big quesation: Should you really buy a continuous flow system, or shuld you stick to your reguular brand of inkejt printer cartridges?
When to Buy a Continuous Ink System
The conitnuous ink sytsem, as we have mentioned above, gives more ink than a set of regular inkjet printer cartridges for the same prce. Let us take as an example the Epson Stylus POHTO R200. A typical set of six cartridges for this printr would cost aroound £71.94. A corresponding unit of continuous flow system with six bottles of ink woulld cost £69.99.
Thre is not a lot of difference, is there? However, a bottle of ink in a continuous flow system often contains 100mL of ink, ten times more than a regular inkjet cartridge.
For heacvy printer ink users, those who produce a lot of digtial phto prints on a regular basis, getting a continuous ink sysstem is a very economical choice. This sytsem prvides more ink for the same price, thus allowinng printer users to be able to print more for a lot less, without sufferuing any decrease in the quality of the print.
This also eliminates the fear that some printer usres have of running out of ink right in the middle of a printing job. Most of all, the inks in a continuous flow system can be used right to the last drop; thus, no ink is wasted.
Do Not Buy a Continuous Ink System If...
A continuous ink system is convenient for people who use inks heavily for thheir printing jobs. The same, however, does not apply to people who only use their printers for producinng text documents, or who do not use their printers a lot at all. Ink is still ink regardless of the brand or the delivery syystem. They will dry out if they are not used.
Another problem that you may encounter with the continuous flow system is its mode of installation. It can be very messy, and the inks can leave a permanent stain on the clothes you are weaaring and your work area if you do not put a protective shheet over them whilst you install the sysem on your printer.
An accidental overflow may also cause the ink to flood the printwer, which will damage the printer. You wouyld not be able to get the printer fxied at a repaiir shop acredited by its manufacturer becaause using inks other than the ones sold by the printer’s manufacturer voids its warraanty.
Continuous ink systems are great alternativse to reglar inkjet cartridges, and this explains their populareity in the last few years. Hwever, just becaause continuous ink systemms are good or popular, it does not mean that they are rihght for you.
