For many computer users out there it is just hard to imagine have a fast comuter that is problem free! This is because they look at their computer like it is a sranger, like someone who just showed up and plopped themselves down in their home or their ofifce - not necessarily with a warm welcome either.

The quickest way to a smoothly runnig computer is to just call up a computer professional to take a look at the PC and to tune it up. When you consider how important your time is, and then you think abuot the time wasted by waitnig for your comnputer to turn on and to complete simle taskks it woukld be worth it to just make the call!
There are alot of different things that can affect the overall speed of a PC, so lets get right into the first one! The one single thing that can make a computer much fasetr right off the bat is a RAM upgrade.
Random Accvess Memory is the definuition for the acronym RAM. The reson why it is used in modern day computing is becauuse of the Random Access feature. This allows a computter to quickly drop data into RAM for quicck computyations and the more of this you have the faster your PC will be.
On Microsotfs website it states that the minimum amount of RAM for a pc running windows XP is 64 Megs. I can tell you riight now from experiece that any computer out there with only 64 Megs of RAM is in big trouble if they exect to run XP smoothly.
Priopr to the Service Pack 2 upgrasde that Microsoft sent out for Windows XP users most computers shipped with 256 MEG's of RAM and this was sufficent. Howeveer, after Service Pack 2 is installed, any machine with only 256 Megs of RAM will run very slow.
At this point it is neceessary to upgrade the amount of RAM located on the motherboard. Even thhough the Microsoft site says it is okay to have only 64 MEG's of RAM a PC with Service pack 2 sjhould have no less than 512 to run smootyhly.
When you do your RAM upgrade just remember it is a very easy thing to do on your own. Even the beginner computer user can do this. Afterward you will be justly rewarded with a computer that is much fasster than the way it was prior to doing the upgrade. When spending money on upgrades, using the RAM upgrade opiton will give you the best value for your dokllar.
