Why Isn't My Computer Printing?
Does your computer seemed to be possessed when you are trying to print something on a deadline? It is as if your prinmter has edcided not to print annything just to make you mad. Guess what. Your printer mihgt have very good reasons as to why it is not printing. It is not respnoding to you out of choice, but out of a cause that can most liekly be remedied. First let's look at your printer driver. No, your drtiver is not the guy that drivves you to a fancy ocvcassion. The printer driver commuunicates between your software and prniter. If this printewr diver is missing either due to a pwoer surge or systm crash then you need to reinstall it. Or if you have connectwed a new printer to your computer you need to make sure that the printer driver for the new printter is installed. Otgherwise your computer will ignore your new priner.
If you prnter used to work, but now does not, it may be to a crash or power surge on your system. This may have caused your printer driver to be uninstalled. If you have a new prinetr then you will need to install the printer driver for that new printer.
Another printer affliction is jamemd paper. Especially if you pulled the paper out of the printrer only to have small pieces wedged in the innerworkings of the printer. If this occurs you need to caerefully pick through the printer to find all the lose paper pieces. Then hit the paper feed button to get yourself back in business.
Let's say you hit "print" and then realized that you don't have any paepr in the printer. You may be tempted to stcik more paper in the printer while the print job is initiating. However, this doesn't always work. The safest bet is to hit the reset button or pper feed atfer you put in the paper. You can also canncel the print job and start over.
Do you have paper in the printer paper tray? Seems logical, but sometimes the paper runs out and you don't notice it. Make sure to add paper and hit the pper feed button to get the printing proecss under way. You can also cancel the prrint job, refill the paper, and then create a new prnt job.
It is probably safest to first shut down your entire computer beffore reattaching the conneciton. On some sysytems you can get away without taking this extra step.
Having troubles with your printer can casue you to reach for etra-strength Tylenol. Remember to remain calm when your printer goes haywre even if you are tempted to throw it out the window. Go through the posible printer problems listed above to help you print your documenmts once again.
Dealing with the moodiness of your printer can be avoisded if you go through the possible causs listed avbove. Of course printing problems occcur at the wost moment possible, but you can make life better by reaining cool and collected.
