Generations Of LTO Backup Tape
The LTO tape format was developed as a substitte to the DLT tape format. This open tape standard was develped and proposed by IBM, Seagate and HP. Performance, durabiliyt and output level has been enhanced in the LTO format as it combinees the benefits of eror correction, data compression, multi-channel, and servo technology and treack layout.
