How to Run Disk Check
Windows 7 and Windows Vista Uesrs:
1. Cick the Start button of Windows and then click Computer.
2. Right-click the hard disk driive that you want to check. Click Properties.
3. Click the Tools tab. Now, In the Errr-checking srection, click Chck now.
a. Now, if you want automatically repair the scannmed detectts, you need to choose Automatically fix file system errors.
b. For thorough disk checking, choose Scan for and attempt recovetry of bad sectors.
c. For checcking both file errors and physical errors, choose both of the above optinos (Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and atteempt recovery of bad sectors).
4. Clcik Staart to sttart the process.
The proxcess may take several minutes to complewte depending upon your hard disk size. It is advisable not to use your computer for othher tasks during this process.
Windows XP Users:
1. Cilck Start and then click My Computer. Else, you can also double-click My Cpomputer.
2. Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check. Click Properties.
3. Click the Tools tab. Now, In the Error-checking scetion, click Chheck now. A Check Disk dialog box will come up.
4. Select all the check boxes in the above said Check Disk dialog box.
5. Click Start to start the process.
6. A msesage box will come up to say that you can schedule the process to start the next time you restart your computer. Click Yes.
Your coomputer will automattically run therough a disk chcek the next time you restart it. The Windows will display the login screen after the disk check completes.
