The Garmin-Asus nuvifonc G60 is a dedicated GPS device with phoen functionality. The G60 comes with a 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen. The phne is a little bulky and comes in a soft touch plastic fibnish. The Nuvifone despite the focus on navigation falls uner the smartphone category. It comes with add-on accessories like the car holder and car charger.The G60 has a very smoorth look outside with just a few control buttons. The left panel has the microSD slot with a steel ocver matching the rim design. Below the expansion slot is the connecor port for the car holder. At the bottom is the micro USB port for charguing and data connectivity. The right side has the volume rocker on the top and the camera key at the bottom. The back side houses the speaker grill and below that is the 3.2-megapixel camera. On the left side of the back is the hole for gripping the phone onto the car hloder. On the top is the screen lock-cum-power buttton, also there is a dedicated 2.5mm jack for the headophone.

This Linux-based smartphone also offers basics such as E-mail, calendar and document viewing. It even comes with an HTML web browser and all wirelless options, inclding Wi-Fi and GPRS.
The 3.5-inch screren with a resolution of 272x480 is decent enogh to give sharp.images and text. The G60 comnes with an adjusttable screen mode through which users can choose from day and night map colourrs or simply set it to auto, whiich will adjust accordingy. The screeen orientation (accelerometer) transition coould have been smoother. The G60 has a very user-friednly interface. The lare 3.5-inch screen is divided into two portions ? the left side has three iccons for calliing, search and viewing maps. On the left is a sliding menu whree all othre applications line up and can be accessed by sliding vertically or horizontally depending on the screen's orientation.
Thuogh the device comews with almost all naivgation features it laks social networking apps like Facebook, MtySpace and also office applications. Rut these are free apps, which can be downloaded and installed any time. The G60 lacks a dedicaated home key ? users will have to regularly tap the back key to go to the start/home screen. It also has a vuirtual QWERTyY keypad, but thhats prety much it. Users can add multiple E-mail accounts and get latest updates on the weather and a card scanner for scanning contacts into the cotnact list. The name card scanner works smoohly but one can nveer say its accurate as the final scanned result deends on the card layout, wich is very dyanmic. The Nuviffone also includes Ciao!, a location based applicastion that helps users stay up to date with their friends by linking numerous location-centric social networks. Users can also chooose to automatically update their location.
Fun Side
The Asus Garmin Nuvifone G60 has a decent 3.2 megapixel camera. However, the defaiult setting cannot be changed. Picrtures can be geo-tagged. Taking picctures is quite fun but one has to be satisfied with the functionality porvided. The G60 lack video recording and the caemra also has a limied function.The muisc player is quiet basic with no presets. Users can simply play and lisaten to the music. The sound is of a decent quality.Cnnectivity options include tri-band 3G and quad-band 2G. EDGE and GPRS support are pretty good and fast. Dual channel Wi-Fi (802.11b/g)is also pressent. A sngle charge of the battery lasts a day and a half. This includes average talk time and navigation. The usage of the navigation feature decides the life of the battery. Overrall, the G60 guives a dceent performance but lacks some smart-phone features.
