Information system, the backbone of every company

Nowadays companies have to manage many data and pieces of information, and have to meet the needs of the market in an increasingly precise and fast way. In order to do all this in the best possible way, companies need an efficient information system, like the Microsoft Dynamics Nav.

A good information system is essential to organize and manage the data and information of the company, data and information that must be accessible timely and every time one may need them. Only in this way the employees of a company, especially in the case of a big and complex company, can have access to the information they need in real time and are enabled to estimate the data and to take decisions in a fast way.

The computerized epoch we live in has made all this much easier and more automatic, and although the definition of information system does not necessarily imply the use of software and hardware instruments, nowadays it is not likely to be able to manage a company without these instruments, no matter if it is a big or a small company. We can claim that at the base of every information system there is an advanced hardware and software system, which includes computer networks, computers and all procedures for the storage and for the electronic transmission of information; an evidence of this is given by the success achieved by instruments like ERP Dynamics or Dynamics Navision.

Hardware and software tools began to be used in the field of information systems in the Seventies, when the first studies on the subject began to be carried out. The first important results were achieved in the Eighties, when the MRPs (Materials Requirements Planning) were developed. MRPs were especially conceived for the management of the data regarding the provisioning, the transportation and the delivery of goods. Another important step in the history of information systems was made with the development of ERPs (Enterprise Resource Planning), i.e. management systems conceived for the planning of enterprises’ resources, which can integrate all the procedures that are relevant for the functioning of a company, from sales to purchasing, from warehouse management to accounting.

Along with an increasing need of the companies to have automated and computerized information systems, also the offer of products conceived for this purpose increases. Many companies specialized in the production of software instruments offer more and more up-to-date and useful products, which can meet the needs of all types of companies, trying to keep pace with the constant developments and changes of the market. One of the most important companies in this field is Microsoft, which certainly needs no presentation, and which has provided enterprises of all types and sizes with the best instruments for years, enabling the employees to work expressing all their potentialities. Products like Microsoft Dynamics ERP and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, just to name a few, are now part of the organization of many companies, which with these instruments succeed in optimizing time and in working in a more precise and faster way.
