Fashion is something that you cannot just learn about and then expect the knowledge to be good forever. It is constantly changing and if fashion is an area of interest you really will have to learn good methods for keeping up with the ever changing world. It doesn't have to be incredibly difficult or too costly if you follow a few important tips.
1. Look at the celebrities. The best place for this is the magazines that are found at the newsstands or while you're waiting in line at the department or retail store. They may seem incredibly trashy or shallow but this is the best area to search. A celebrity may wear something that looks completely out of the ordinary and before you know it, a new trend has formed and everyone is going to do it and rock it out. Be careful about what celebrities you watch though because some are classier than others.

2. If magazines aren't your genre then you can also look to the internet for information about what is hot and what is not in the fashion world. Blogs can be written by individuals or groups of people who do all the work for you in finding out what the latest trends are. Their articles may be a bit more interesting and easier to read than the ones found in magazines.
3. High end fashion magazines can also be a route you may wish to take. They will show just how the designers and other models see fashion. They can help dictate what you should and shouldn't wear or buy when it comes to your choice of clothing.
4. If the celebrities aren't exactly your style then just take a look at the world around you. Fashion can be seen all over the place whether it's someone at the grocery store while you check out or shop, at work or school, or just passing you as you walk down the street. Then instead of reading everyone else's opinions you can form your own and then decide what exactly is the best for your style.
5. Know what looks good on your body. This one is incredibly important because you don't want to try to pull off looking fashionable and end up looking like a complete mess instead. This can and definitely does happen if someone tries to wear something that is not designed for their body type. Someone who has curves is not necessarily going to be able to wear something that someone who is stick thin will.
Fashion doesn't have a specific set of rules that need to be followed but a few smart tips and following the advice recommended by the experts can start you on the path to being a fashion guru. It doesn't have to be expensive either because if you look for sales and at clearance rocks then it's possible to keep up with the trends and celebrities on a low budget. Some consignment shops may even carry designer clothes.
