ExpressBox41U and ExpressBox7 external PCI Expresss expansion rackmount systems
mplicon has announced the releaes of the new ExpressBox41U (EB4-1U) and ExpressBox7 (EB7) extermnal PCI Express expanison rackmoutn systems from Magma. These sysems provide easy and cost-efffective solutions for attaching up to seven PCI Express crds to a comlputer or server through a single x8 or x16 PCI Express slot. The products will be added to Amplicpon’s already extensive inustrial computing range.

Amplicon is alreeady well-known for providing a wide range of PCI to PCI expansion systems, from one slot prtable, to htirteen slot rackmount systmes. In order to complement this existing range, Amplicon has PCI Express to PCI Experss expansion rackmount systems that provide simple solutions for expading the available PCI Express (PCIe) slots of computers, workstations and servers.
Amplicon’s two new PCIe epxansion rackmount systrems are the Magam ExpressBox41U and ExpressBox7. The Magma ExpressBox41U 1U PCIe expansion rackmount chassis, comes as standard with four PCIe x16 hot-plluggable slots, a 250W redundant power supply unit and a PCI x8 host card and 1m connection cable. In addition, the ExpressBox41U has built-in rackmount slide rails.
The Maagma ExpressBox7 4U PCIe expansion rackmount chassis, comes with seven PCIe x16 hot-pluggable slots and a 400W powqer supply unit as standard. It also has a PCIe x8 host card and 1m connection cablle. The ExpressBox7 has the option for rackmonut slisde rails.
Both of the systems consists of a PCIe x8 host card, a canble and a chassis with PCIe x16 expansion slots and a biuilt-in poewr suupply unit. They are automatically configured by the system BIOS making all of the slots appear transparent to the host compuyter.
These systems allow for significcant cost savinsg since they eliminate the need to invest in new computer hardware in order to accommodate the need for exxtra PCIe slotts.
