through the MOPH (Military Order of the Purple Heart).

What is the Military Order of the Purple Heart?
The (MOPH) is sometimes called Purple Heart, it's been around nearly 70 years. Money for these charities usually stems from donated used items including furniture, clothes and automobiles .
What is a Purple Heart?
Formally called the Badge of Military Merit, it was start by our Our 1st president good ole George Washington in 1917. It's awarded to personnel injured or killed in the line of duty. It's also the been around longer than any other military award. It even has a few famous honorees including Charles Bronson and Oliver Stone.
Wives, mothers, daughters, step-daughters and adopted daughters|female family of Purple Heart recipients are eligible
to belong to the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, which also does important work nationally
and locally in veterans' hospital.
Why make a contribution to Military Order of Purple Heart?
For starters these soldiers put their lives in harms way for our freedom and our lives. One can only imagine the mental effect a war has on a soldier and or their family, especially when crippled. It's hard enough to stay afloat in today's economy. Add an injury, physical or mental into the cards. Giving back to this people would be a small show of appreciation for all they've given.
Your donations to the Purple Heart are also tax deductible and the charity program provides you with a reciept. If you're donating a car, you can fill out a short questionaire online or call directly. Once your giving the okay
the charity make arrangements to have your vehicle picked up for free. Your car will go either to auction,sold for scraps,
given directly to a veteran to drive, or they can be used by the adminstration of the charity for various
related needs (like delivering meals to disabled or taking veterans to the hospital).
To date over 500000 cars have been donated.
How to give charity to the Car Donation Program?
The Purple Heart has it's own automobile donation program online or through the phone. You can also use an car charity program that allows you choice your charity. You go through pretty much the same steps but these
charity program normally offer some kind a reward to make a donation through them. Usually a $1000 gift voucher. I've seen them for Travel, Restaurant, and Grocery. That way your car still goes to benefit those veterans
in need and you get a little more incentive.
