Several Cases Of Motor Vehicle Accidents Concerning Teenage Drivers

It is well recognized that teenage drivers are at high risk of being involved in a motor vehicle accident. Almost every day one can find reports of still more accidents with teenage drivers. Many accidents have more than one teenager in a car. Many accidents have more than one victims. Many accidents include pedestrian victims. In this article we consider four reported accidents. In 3 of the cases a person died.
This motor vehicle accident was caused by a 16 year-old driver who was driving under a junior license. The accident happened at approximately 9:20 on a Tuesday evening. The junior license prohibited driving beyond 9 pm. The driver lost control of his car, hit another car, and then slammed into a 65 year-old male pedestrian who was waiting at a bus stop. The victim died from his injuries a short time after being hit. The driver survived the accident with only minor injuries. He was, however, arrested and charged with speeding, manslaughter, and criminally negligent homicide.

In this report the driver of the motor vehicle was a drunk eighteen year old male. The motor vehicle accident occurred prior to dawn on a Sunday. The greatest percentage of drunk driving accidents happen on weekend nights. The driver struck a male pedestrian, 44 years of age, who was crossing a road. The impact caused the pedestrian to suffer severe head injuries. The driver was arrested. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence.
According to this report the driver was an eighteen year old male. The motor vehicle accident happened in the morning hours on a Sunday. The accident took place in a residential area. The accident occurred when the teenaged driver lost control of his vehicle. The car spun violently and then flipped over, hit the victim and struck a large tree in front of the house. The man had just gotten out of his car to get a pamphlet from the front yard on a home which had a For Sale sign when he was struck by an out of control car. The victim died from his injuries. He was sixty seven years old.
This motor vehicle accident involved a nineteen year-old female driver also driving in a residential neighborhood. She struck a woman who was in front of her residence working in a flower bed. The car hit her with such force that she was thrown nearly 150 feet into a truck parked in her driveway. The teenaged driver fled the scene of the accident. About 30 minutes after the accident the police located the young driver and arrested her. They found her not far from the scene of the accident. She claimed she was going back to the scene to admit she had caused the accident.
Whenever I read a report of a new motor vehicle accident accident involving a teen driver my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. These types of cases are true tragedies. Victims who survive the accident are often left with injuries that result in irreversible disabilities. In situations involving a fatality the family of the victim suffers the loss of a loved one. Even the life of the teen driver is permanently changed. Yet, whether it is from speeding or from drunk driving these accidents continue to happen.
