I have decided that I must follow a woman's ab routine if I'm going to lose my love handles. If you have verified my footage, then you know those handles haven't gotten any smaller.
My ab routine has forever been to superset crunches with reverse crunches. Even currently with this layer of blubber around my midsection, I can feel the abs getting harder underneath (okay, enough with the laughing, I hear ya). I used to mention that exercise hardens the muscle and diet strips the fat away. And there's that whole "no spot reduction" stuff.

Okay, therefore I used to be watching my wife determine whereas I was typing the other day - kind of weird on my part, I know. She has this DVD known as, "Weight Loss Cardio Sculpt" with Violet Zaki. Violet Zaki puts the outstanding in phenomenal condition. And he or she has great wanting obliques. And so will my wife for that matter and she trains to Violet's program.
Hmmm, could there be a link here?
Violet has an eight minute ab challenge section on that DVD. Today, after my chest/back and biceps/triceps superset workout, I popped in that DVD and gave that challenge a try. It absolutely was hard. I could sense my abs crying and whining as my entire midsection burned like Rome underneath Nero.
Number of observations on the workout:
1. 8 nonstop minutes, not aerobic; however the stress never leaves the midsection
2. Begins with a pair side bend variations to work the obliques.
3. First five minutes is all twisting and bending the torso.
4. Frontal muscles are hit last.
5. Not like ab crunches or reverse crunches, all her movements (except facet bends) involve multiple muscle groups plus require some coordination.
In short, it is a whole program. What I liked concerning it had been the sense I was making my waist look narrower from the front. And it is sensible, kind of, as a result of oblique's return down like a "V" from the ribcage, as it tucks into the hip.
And Violet has great obliques.
Thus, if you are in the marketplace for a new ab workout, do what I am currently visiting do. My ab workouts will specialize in oblique's following the 5 observations on Violet's workout. My visualization can be one amongst my oblique's narrowing sort of a "V" because it tucks into my hips. Wow, that's a sensible picture; I think I will shoot for that.
