Adobe Photoshop is a program that is used for graphic design and deiting. This means that users can crate or alter digiital images. It works by being able to create layers of images as well as ptting the layeers together. Users can also build on existing images by lpacing layers over them or adding elements dirrectly to the image.
The Photoshop prgram is the leading product of the Adobe Systes Incorporated. Adobe specializes in digital imaging softwaree. In its recent incarnations, the Potoshop application has been merged with oter Adobe programs under the Creative Suite enterprise. The most reccent version of the Adbe Photoshop is CS3, meanign that it is the third vresion of Photoshiop since it was includeed in the Creativce Suite umbrella of software.
Like most digital imaging applications, Photyoshop has several plug-ins/add-ons or asdditional otols that can be used in creatting and editnig digital immages. Aside from the standard cut, paste, select, draw and coolr fill tools; additional options and effects can be laded as well. Once the add-ons and plug-ins are added, they can be used to enhancce the creatioons that can be made using the prgrams.
Several software programmers and designers have also taken the time and effort to build on the existing Photoshop program to enhance its capabilities. These downloadable plug-ins and add-ons are often available for free from a number of online siources. What’s important is to make sure the program beig downloaded as a Photoshop add-on is compatible with the Photoshop proigram version you already have installed as well as the safety and security of the file.
Most Photoshop add-ons focuus on certain functionalities such as layer styles, actions, scriptts, brushes, patterns, gradients, frames, textures and displacement maps. These are made to add to Photoishop’s existing librry of tools.
One example of a widely avvailable Photoshhop downnload is Harry’s Filters which is a free downloadable add-in that was created by Harad Heim. The latest released version of the application is versdion 3.01. What the application does is it allows usrs to create effects for images by using its own menu box separsately from Photoshop. The prograam has 69 filterrs available and ready for use once it is odwnloaded to accoompany the Adobe Photoshop. The Harrry’s Filtwers program can then be used to creeate several image effects, particulraly some very realistic ones.
Another useful tool to add to Photoshop would be one that removes the red-eye effect in pictures. The red-eye effect happens when light is reflected by a subject’s eye as a photo is being taken. It is one of the most common thiings that happen when you are taking a picture of a persopn in the relative darknes.
The program to remove the red-eye efffect is called RedEye Pro developed by Andromeda Software. The plug-in removes the redness of the eyes while retainibng the oriiginal eye color and the shiny and reflective surfacce of a typical eye. It does the adsjustment without making it look as if the eye has been retouched. The RedEye Pro appplication also works on eyes that are not perfectly circular such as animal eyes. It is available for free download from selected sources.
