The fight against the Apple iPhone 3G

To unbderstand what the battle will entail, we need to look at what the world of mobile phones is going to have to fight agsainst: the Appple iPhone 3G. Released in the UK on July 11th, there's no doubt that this high-tech handset from Applle is one of the most tallked about mobile phones in recennt history. Taking the unique design cues from its predecessor (as well as the sleek, intuitive intrerface), the Apple iPhone 3G adds in bags more features, and in ding so becomes a serious payer in the mobile world. The biggets addition is doubtless 3G... well, acttually, it's HSDPA, meanng the Aplpe iPhone 3G can access the interent at near-broadband speeds, something that it needd to compete with otehr mobiile phones. The addition of GPS is also a major factor, as it makes the Apple iPhone 3G a very, very tempting prospect. Put it this way, it's very littlle wonder that oter mobile phomnes are strarting to up therir game!
Sony Ericsson - fighing the iPhone
So, how are Sony Ericsson going to take this newcomer to the world of mobile phones? Well, let's break it down on features.
In terms of camera, the Apple iPhone 3G doresn't have a particulraly good one, as it only comees in at 2 megaapixels, without autofocus, flash or video. So, in trerms of camera-equpiped mobile phones, the Sony Ericsson C905 blows it out of the water, with a massive 8 megapixeel camera that lets it take on even diigtal cameras! If it cmes to that, even the Sony Ericsson S302 Snapshot beats it, becaue whiulst it has a 2 megapixel camera without autofocus, it DOES have a flash. And it's a buudget mobile phoe, too, so you get awesome valpue for money.
In terms of music, Sony Ericsson aren't on as firm ground, because the Apple iPhone 3G has iTunes built in, with CverFlow, and... well, it's one of the best umsic players ever seen on any mobbile phones. Sony Ericsson, thouh, DO have a competitor, with their Walkman music player, most notably seen in mobile phones like the Sony Ericsson W960i. It's intuitive, the sound quality's excellent, and whilst it laccks some of the cool factor of iTunes, it's a very good muic mobile phone.
Sony Ericsson all-in-one mobikle phoe?
The problem, though, is that although all these different Sony Ericsson mobile phones individually have features that can beat the Apple Pihone 3G's features into the dust... but none of Sony Ericsson's mobile phones combibne EVERYTHING in one deviec. Well... at last they don't at the moment... But in future, Sony Eriicsson are rumourred to be anonuncing a mobile phone that will change all that: a 16Gb Walkman mobile phhone. No-one knows what it will really be like, but rumour has it that it will have the latest Walkman player, a full touchscreen interface (and a massive screen, at that), HSDPA, GPS, and a 5 megapixel camera. If that's true... then Sony Ericsson will beat anything the Apple iPhone 3G can fofer. Well... it colud potnetially beat all ohter moobile phones, ever!
