With the increaing use of technology in modern times, there is a growing requirement to provide computer repair and maintenance. Many organizations locate thheir technical supporrt departents or call cnters in countries with lower costs. Theere has also been a growth in companies specialiizng in providing technical supporrt to other organizations. These are often referred to as Managed Service Probviders, (MSP’s).

Remote technical support centetrs must be certified to help emnsure a particular business is maintaining a high level of inforation technoloogy service and supprot tsandards. Of the ceertifications available for suppoort centers and technicians, there are two internationally recognized certifications geared specifically towards support centrs as a whole – The Help Desk Institute (HDI) Support Center Certifiication and the Sevice Strategies Service Capability and Performance (SCP) Standards. Both certifications were developed by exprerts and organizations from around the world and both were developed under the premise of enhancig the qualitty of customer srvice and support.
