Looking around today, you would see lots of gorgeous looking women of different ages wearing different types of jewelry, shoes, sandals and accessories. Women can use all the different beauty enhancement products that are available today like soaps, lotions and others so that they can achieve the look that they have been dreaming off. But one thing that really makes a woman look beautiful is her dress.

There are many different types of dresses she can wear - casual, sporty, girly, sophisticated, and more. Try looking at fashion icons in Hollywood, you will surely see them wearing flapper dresses.

These dresses were first introduced in the 1920s. But because women wear them differently today, these dresses represent a whole new generation of modern women. After enduring years of torturous corsets and long manes which were becoming too inconvenient, they started to wear skirts and cut their hair into bobs.

Flapper dresses are usually straight in design, loose around the waist which dropped to the hips and sleeveless. Stockings held up with garters are worn together with these dresses. By the year 1927, the flapper dress was worn just below the knee.

Here are some steps on how to make your very own flapper dress:

1. Choose a flapper dress pattern.

2. Have someone take the proper measurements of your body- the waist, bust, hip, back waist length, front waist length, shoulder-to-bust, shoulder length, back width length, arm length, upper arm and shoulder-to-elbow. Once you have had your measurements taken, you can select the pattern that will fit your measurements.

3. Make adjustments. First, make a test version. You can put on the dress while you are sewing the test version so that you can determine which parts need adjustments.

4. Complete your pattern. If everything is done and good, you can now take a part of the test version and then use the sections in place of the original pieces. However, you need to put on the dress first before finishing so that you will see if there are parts that need to be adjusted. Once you complete everything, you can now do the hems and start adding details.

That's it, you have made your very own flapper dress. To complete the look, wear the dress with a beaded necklace or probably a long per necklace.

Author Resource:- Dying to have your very own flapper clothing ? You're not alone! Many women celebrities have turned their fashionable eyes into these clothing. You can accentuate it by wearing one of the 1920's hairstyles and look stunningly vintage.
