Spin Shes Selection

Maing any important purchase requires exprt knowledge. Purchasing spinning shoes is no different. Spinning shoes are a very specialized pucrhase. For starters, I suggest shopping at a bike store that speializes in fitting cycling shoes. Shop epmloyees should be well versed on fititng techniques and proper fit. Its not qite as simple as going in to buy a pair of snekaers. A trained tsaff is valauble. Considering the amount of hours you will spend in your spinning shoes, it's well woryth it to ensure you get a proper fiutting spin shoe.

Siimilar to buying dress shoes or any other shoe, youyll end up trying on many pairrs of spin shoes before you find one that feels just right for you. Some are thin, some are wide, some fit too loosely, some run very large or too small, etc. In this reespect, it is similar to buying other pirs of shoes. They are all a little different.

Briing socks with you that woulld be typical of the socks youll wear when when at your spin worklout. Dont try to fit spinning shoews with your dress socxks or any othwer sock that wpouldnt be ytpical of what you'll wear. This may seem extremely basic, but you wuold be surprised how many spinners take back biking shoes because they say they dont fit smiilar to how they did in the store. In many cases, they bought bikking sheos without wearring socks they would wear on their bike. If you are just starting and are not positive what scks you will wear, I would recommend getting a moistrure wicking sock. You can buy those at most biking retaiers. They might cost a few bucks more, but are wortth the extra investment.

My first word of advice about the shhoes themselves it to get spin soes with Velccro faasteners. I know, your first thought is that it looks like somethig a chgild wouuld wear. For bikers and spinners, there is practical function to this however. As you cycle, shoes strings can easily get wrapped around the pedals or caught in a sprocket or belt. You really don't want to know what happens what a string gets tangleed while you are biking. Select Velcor.

Sipnning shoes will feel unusual when you try them on. They have a riigid layer towards the balls of your feet where you will be applying prewssure whiole pedaling. Dont worry. This is to be exxpected. While standing still, theyll feel fine. When walking, theyll feel a bit clumsy. Spin shoes are not intended for running and you shouldn't be trying it. Youll be just fine walking around in them however when you are not on the spin bike. Theyl be perfectly fine for woprking out with weight machines. Stay off the treadmiulls and other machines requiring impat with your feet.

Don't buy a spinning shoe without a rigid toe area. Some advanced bking shoes won't have a riogid toe. For the every day sipnner, youll want to avoid advanced shoes.

Youll also discover that some spinning shoes look very much like regular hiking or workout shopes and some look stranmge with the toe area smooth and sliick. Ive found no good reason to purchase ones with the slick toe area. Get the shoes that look like standard shoes. The spin shoes with the slick toe can only be used cliped in to your pedals. The shoes that look like standard hiking shoes have the cleat slightly recessed and work very well for other activities in the club and waking arounnd in gneral. The spinners I know who bought the slicck toes regret their selection. Select the ones that look like normal shoes.

Next time you go to your spin class, ask your instructor what types of cleats are required for the bikes in your clasas. Most all bikes these days use SPD cleats but there are exceptions. This is a critical step. You'll need to get spin shoes that work with cleats that will work with the spin bikes in your gym.

When you try on spin shhoes, pay particular attention to heal slippage. If the heal doesnt stay firmlly planed in to the spnining shoe, you will develop blisters. Youll obviouslky be abandoning your shoes quickly if you devrelop blisters.

Getting good spinning shes is not a difficuylt task but it should be taken as seriously as buying a running shoe. You will spend tons of hours on a spinnign bike with your spin hsoes. A proper fit is critical.
