Computer virus not only can delete everything on the hard drive but also can steal your personal data and information. In most of the cases, computer viruses are spread by attachments in e-mail messages. You may be opening a funny image or a greeting card without knowing that it is a virus. Once the attached file is opened, hidden computer viruses are installed automatically without giving you any information. But there are some simple tips by following which you can protect your computer from viruses.

How will you understand whether your computer is virus affected or not? There are some symptoms. If your computer runs slower than usual, disks or disk drives are not accessible, your computer may stop responding or the computer crashes and then gets restarted automatically in regular interval and more which are the reasons of virus. Turn off your computer – If you are not using your computer, turn it off. More importantly, if you don’t need internet, disconnect it. Remember, most of the computer viruses are spread through internet. Whether it is a home PC or a computer in the office, if you are not connected to the internet, the hackers can’t hack it.

Never run unknown programs – There are many viruses that are attached to e-mails. So, it is suggested to delete the mails that are from unreliable source without opening it. If you find your system is virus affected talk to an expert for virus removal support.

Install anti-virus software – It is a must to install an anti-virus software onto your computer for virus protection. If your computer has an anti-virus software installed it can detect the viruses in an e-mail or in a file and can stop it before it could harm your computer. Many antivirus software programs also offer free updates which help your computer to fight against the latest bugs.

A personal firewall – Is your computer connected with the internet constantly? If yes, you can think of buying a personal firewall for your computer. If a personal firewall is installed in your computer, the hackers cannot hack into for confidential information like security numbers, credit card numbers, etc.
