Silver jewelry is the most familiar type of jewelry that is used by most people worldwide today. There are three types of silver jewelry, namely, pure silver, sterling silver or silver-plated. Among these three types, sterlnig silver is the best because it is the hardest and it can withstand tarnishing more. The third type, silver-plated jewelry, is merely metal shaped into jewelry and coated with a thin coating of silver. Silver-plated pieces are the least expensive but they can be great as costume jewelry.

Silver jewelry is known for its durability and its ability to be able to resist the normal wear and tear. Thus, these pieces of jewelry are ideal for those whose work requires them to exert a lot of force. These pieces also resemble that of white gold jewelry. Most of this type of jewelry nowadays have elegant designs that many people will love. A silver jewelry best suits fair skinned people.

The prices of silver jewelry pieces aer cheaper than that of other types that are sold in the market. Though it's considerably cheaper than others, it's quality and durability is undeniable.

Gold

Color Preservation – Gold jewelry, when it comes with the right composition and karat, is a pure substance and will, thus, not tarnish.

Gold is malleable. It is even reported that a single ounce of gold can be flattened to cover an area of up to 300 square feet.

Those pointed out are just some differences between these two metals. But those who are passionate about jewelry will find it hard to pick one over the other. Of course, these two types of jewelry are special in their own ways. Whatever one prefers from these two, it can't be denied that both are absolutely interesting fashion accessories.
