Magic carpet, lawn, trampoline: not always when speaking about carpets you refer to oriental carpets and other kinds of rugs and tapestries. Talking about “carpets” you can refer to a large number of things, starting from the legendary magic carpet which transported those who used it from a place to the other flying high in the sky, like the one in One thousand and one nights, and arriving to the trampolines, loved by children – and not only –, which make them fly so high that they can imagine they are flying. But if you prefer staying down to earth, you can think of the lawns, groomed and uniform just like carpets.
Summing up, carpets are a recurrent presence in different spheres, and surely in every home: you don’t need to have a Berber carpet or rare examples of antique carpets to be able to say that you have a rug. In most homes you’ll find at least a bedside rug, or a kitchen rug, appreciated at least for their practical functionality. The antique carpets lovers instead do not look for functionality, but for aesthetics, though it keeps its function anyway: it gives heat the room you put it in, both in a physical and in an emotional sense. It actually warms up the room because it works like a carpet on the floor, and the atmosphere because it makes the room cosier.
The aesthetic side of carpets is undeniable; to choose the right carpet to fill you room, in fact, you should remind the style of the interior design of the room, hence materials and colours, followed by shapes and, obviously, your personal tastes. Having a carpets collection increases the value of your home very much, because it contributes to creating a cosy atmosphere and completes the interior design, either it is a design carpet or a classical one.
In sum, each house has its own kind of carpets that will help to complete its design: to understand which is the right style, you should rely first of all on your own tastes and personal style, but it’s very important as well to rely on the experience of the specialized shops, which offer to their clients their professional help not only for the sale, but also for the choice and the maintenance after the sale. Maintenance in fact is to be highly considered as far as carpets are concerned, because to be durable they need care and the due treatments: they need professional cleaning and, as time goes by, they may also need to be renovated.

So, carpets to decorate, but also to warm up, to welcome, to be used, watched, looked after: whatever the style you prefer may be, it will surely need your cares, either it is an antique or modern carpet, an oriental one, a knotted carpet or a kilim...or, maybe, a magic carpet.
