Although it's generally accepted that the only truly reliable technique to avoid weight gain is by healthy eating dieting, the truth is that for many people, this seems like a a long drawn out affair. It takes a whole lot of effort, and it may be some time before you see significant results from healthy eating dieting – so taking a short cut turns out to be more attractive.

Mostly, anorexia is chosen by individuals who really feel that healthy eating still has too many calories involved. Bulimia victims will eat where anorexics starve themselves, and can usually binge to the point where they're painfully full before inducing vomiting to make sure that food can not be digested.
