The Idea of Giving Custom Greeting Cards

Can you still remember the first time you have ever received a greeting card? Try hard if all you remember are hazy remembrances of past holidays and birthday celebrations. I can still vividly remember that day. I was four or five, a little tote who, on Christmas day, received a greeting card from my grandparents, among the fancy treats, fluffy toys, and little dolls given to me that year. My mother showed me the greeting card which played music every time it opens. Being a curious kid, I was delighted by the music – a Frosty the Snowman tune – which made the festive season livelier, according to my recollection of that many long Christmases ago.

All I know is that, apart from the added festiveness brought about by the upbeat music and the Christmas motif on the greeting card, I have felt extra special and that I was terribly missed. The reason for which was the message handwritten by my grandparents. It said so many warm and fuzzy feelings that I could feel that they were with me that time. My grandmother was a very good letter writer, and he told me a story about what Christmas is all about and why we celebrate it every year. That year, I have come to love the wonders of greeting cards and how it can affect us. (Also, I was doubly delighted when a crisp dollar bill has slipped out of the crack!)

Even if you are child or a grown up, greeting cards are still a hit among us. Though there are people who have taken into using electronic greeting cards to express their sentiments during special occasions, birthdays and holidays, we still find joy in receiving printed greeting cards. These may be mass produced – easily bought at the neighborhood book store and can take long to deliver as it can be in a snail pace, greeting cards still have a unique charm. Sometimes, one can feel incomplete if there’s no greeting card received during holidays. Sending and receiving greeting cards has been a continuing tradition that has gone down to many generations.

For those who like to send and receive greeting cards, you may want to consider custom made ones. Instead of buying the mass produced types, custom greeting cards can make your recipients feel extra special because of the time and effort you extended in making a one-of-a-kind card. Nothing beats a personalized greeting card which has taken time and effort to create. As many people say, it does not need to be overly beautiful. As long as it is unique design – even if the illustration or the photograph may not be at par with stock photos – and a heartfelt message, it is a win. As you know, greeting cards made by children can be the most heartfelt.

If you want to create custom greeting cards for the holidays, you may now start thinking of design ideas. Take time thinking of the possible design templates and lay outing format, the paper type that you will use as well as how the envelope would look like. You may need to look at the person’s likes and dislikes, passions and interests if you are sending a greeting card for his or her birthday. You may inject humor, anecdote, funny statement, and hilarious messages just to make the person feel that he or she is missed and remembered.
