Back in the year 1964, a woman, 40 years of age applied for admission to the local university's college of literature, science and the arts in raggedy farm clothes. This farm wife fresh off a chicken ranch and whose education was only through convent nuns proclaimed her intention to become a doctor. A skeptical admissions officer sent her to a university psychologist before approving the application.
The spokesman of the university has revealed that ten years after, this woman, this spring, has achieved something which can hardly be paralleled. They are also proud of her for within that decade that she had beautifully struggled to meet her premed and medical school requirements for a doctorate, she was able to raise her 10 kids with her husband's help so well.

This woman is readying herself for more medical work a one year internship in a local hospital and then a three year residency to specialize further in internal medicine which will run for three years. She envisions herself to have a full medical career. Twenty five years would be the life span of a medical career but I am resolute to be in this career more than those years.
Back in 1964 after operating a 145 acre chicken farm for 15 years, her husband decided to change his occupation and suggested to his wife that she also look for a new way to bring in income. A specialist in electronics instrumentation at the local research lab was the next job he assumed. On the other hand, his wife worked part time for the blood processing laboratory of the university while she went to school.
She states that everyone asks me this, but it's not that tough being a mother of a lot of children while pursuing my studies. We put so much caution in managing our finances and we just got by day by day. All of them cooperated even without me asking them for anything. The kids did their part alongside their extremely helpful father. I don't like to cook, so I always washed the dishes. Doing the dishes and cooking would work out for us.
The lady got herself a nice 3 point 2 average in her premed program then got into biology as a part time graduate student as she coaxed the medical school to accept her. She maintains that it is not only her who benefited from medical school but also everyone in their family. For instance, their children benefit from the new people they meet right in their own home a group of teachers and other medical students. They met tons of outstanding individuals and learned to understand people across incomes and statuses.
One of my daughters told me about how she was asked once about how it feels to have a mom who is always away a lot. She retorted that she perceived her as another person and not just a parent. Out of the ten kids they have, only two remain. Their 14 year old boy is currently at the local junior high school while the seventeen year old lad recently graduated high school from the local school. But the eldest boy who is currently 29 years of age gets to visit them as he stays in their area and manages a motorcycle sales shop. On her medical achievements, this lady doctor avers that the secret is that she has never lost her role as a woman as she embraced the obligations of a doctor. Thanks to these venues for responsibilities and personal achievement, she can call herself successful.
