Owning and maintaining your air conditioning system can be a pain, and the expenses can quickly add up. From central heating repairs to heating duct cleaning, the job is a lot more complicated than you might think, and can be a massive can of worms if you start it and don’t know what you’re getting yourself into. Luckily, there’s professional air duct cleaning services out there that will take care of the cleaning and maintaining for you.
There are many different parts to an air conditioning system, and cleaning them on your own can be a major chore. Let’s look at just the air ducts for a bit and see what it would take for you to clean it on your own. Well, first of all, you’ll need something that can navigate the air ducts in your home. Don’t let the Hollywood movies fool you; there are very few air ducts big enough to send someone into. This is even truer when it comes to your house. Even if your kid is willing to help out, they probably won’t be able to fit.

So, let assume that you do have something that will be able to successfully navigate your ducts. Your next challenge is being able to actually clean it. This means that you will need something that can sweet loose and clear debris and dust that has built up in the ducts, as well as get that stuff out of the ducts – preferably without it having to go through the vents and into your home. So, a giant vacuum hose is basically what you’ll need if you don’t want to make a mess in your house.
So, assuming that you can clean the ducts by yourself, because you just so happen to have all of that equipment lying around your house, the next step is to maintenance the actual AC itself. Now, this is where things get complicated. Unless you know exactly what you’re doing, I highly suggest having a profession do this. Trust me; it’s not worth trying to figure out yourself.
