Healing the Healers

2 years ago before the winter holidays, I noticed that several of the healers that I used to be going to (a massage therapist, an energy healer, a chiropractor, and an herbalist) were wanting a bit tired and probably in need of some rejuvenation them. It made sense to me. In our overly busy, often stressed-out culture, individuals were utilizing their services thus much, needing them so much, that they themselves were obtaining stretched a touch too thin.
I grasp that several of you recognize who these people are; they are the 'healers' in our communities.

By providing their restorative services, they facilitate our ongoing wellness. Typically owning their own businesses, they must market themselves, whether or not it's not their strength. Health and wellness is.

I'm simply so grateful that we tend to have thus several of these of us willing to pursue the healing arts and create those services widely available. Without them, it would be nearly impossible to navigate life during this culture today. So several times their gifts have brought me back from the brink of despair, raised my spirits, healed my ailments or those of my kids, offered me a replacement perspective, latest analysis or herbal remedy.
I used to be seeing 'my healers' on a daily basis for a variety of chronic health problems, however I noticed that I may supply them one thing in return. At the time I used to be a college professor and was about to enter Winter Break, a three-week period where I wasn't needed to be at work (though in all probability still grading at home). I'm certified yoga instructor along with a Reiki practitioner (that is a topic for one more day). The thought occurred to me: why not provide them a free treatment during the hectic holiday season?
Thus, using my restricted PowerPoint skills, I created little certificates that said, "Healing the Healer. This certificate is good for one Reiki session or one personal yoga class." I felt somewhat awkward about mailing these out: I mean, they knew me as a sociology professor. Did they extremely need my facilitate? And why would I even be creating such an provide? So, I decided not to suppose too arduous regarding my decision and just mail the certificates. Generally, if I think too much or too long, my doubts finish up stifling my sensible intentions, whether or not they seem a little offbeat.
I was completely delighted when 2 of the four called me to schedule their treatment. One in every of them wished the one-hour Reiki session and the other took me up on the individualized yoga class. They both seemed relieved and grateful to get a chance for themselves; to let somebody else pamper them for a change. The lady who received the Reiki treatment literally melted on my table, and the other ladies ended up taking many months worth of yoga classes with me.
