Denver is the capital of Colorado in the United States. It is sited on the elevated plains just to the east of Southern Rocky Mountains’ Front Range. It is known as the Mile High place as its official height is precisely a mile above the sea level.

Denver was a mining town founded in November 1858. It was incorporated with the territory of Colorado in February 1861. It became the state capital of Colorado in August 1, 1876.
