Winter time is the favorite time of year for many people all across the world because there are so many things you can do during this period. One of these things is skiing. Definitely one of the greatest sports, skiing can be learning with a bit of practice even by small kids. There are really no limits to this sport once you get the hang of it. Traditional skiing is done on easy to navigate slopes which are easy to navigate through and also by using a pair of regular skis. Sure, powder skiing can be quite dangerous but so are a number of other sports. This is why you should not plan you first trip until you reach at least a medium to advanced skill level. People love snow cat skiing for the sense of freedom it gives them. Going down a very steep slope and creating your own course as you advance is simply fantastic and more and more people are getting drawn to it. Also, people tend to believe that they have to wait until winter to enjoy powder skiing but the reality is that there are numerous destinations all around the world where you can put your skills to good use.
In fact, Canada is rapidly becoming the number one destination for snow cat skiing and other variations such as heli skiing because companies in this country are making good use of its great geography, and after combining this with great lodging there is really no room for questions. Powder skiing requires the use of special skis which are considerably wider than regular skis which would not be able to ride the surface of the freshly fallen snow. However, there is no need to make additional investments and purchase a new pair of skis for your powder skiing or snow cat skiing trips because most companies rent them out to customers just like you would get skis at a normal mountain resort.
