One of the most crucial factor that leads to success or failure of any business marketing is the choice of paper stock for printing of promotional materials, be it poster printing or hang tags. What kind of paper stock do you use for business cards? What about for print flyers? Or door hangers? Do you want coated or uncoated paper materials? What you choose to utilize in your marketing campaign would be your first step to knowing what kind of printing services you also need to mount a very successful marketing campaign, whether you are in the process of preparing your poster templates or having a professional to do it for you.
There are many printing services you can find online and offline. Many of them would offer different weight paper stocks, along with different finishes to the standard house paper of these printing companies. It is not however important how to configure the different paper weights; rather, it is more important to know which weight would be more appropriate to get you the best quality printing for your marketing materials.

The paper you choose would determine the right color, brightness, sharpness as well as the texture of your marketing collateral as the final output to your printing needs. Hence, opting for light weight paper can only give you a negative impression even if you happen to have the most cost effective printing project in the planet, for the simple reason that your marketing tools would not last that long. For marketing tools that require card stock material, it is best to get high quality paper stock with 14 pt or even heavier. Then add gloss coating on both sides to keep your marketing collaterals to last longer than the initial delivery.
But if you want to have the brightest and the glossiest printing material, you have to choose glossy card stock with UV coating. For your information, UV coating is a liquid form of lamination that seals the ink underneath and then protects your marketing collaterals from any printing of fingers, scratching and deterioration. But if you happen to be looking at mailing your marketing collaterals, be sure to choose UV coating for one side and either no coating or matte on the side used for writing your message.
Lighter qualities such as 100lb gloss book weight would be better off on print flyers, booklets, brochures, among others. Paper stock having this particular book weight will not curl, with minimal show through, without having to sacrifice the texture and the shape of the marketing tool.
Then there are also the cover weights to consider. Of course, standard covers render heavier paper stock than the 100LB gloss paper. 14 and 16pt is a little bit too heavy for some marketing materials; but it would be more appropriate for booklets with multiple pages, as well as a catalog printing material.
And then there are still many other good paper stocks to use. You can learn all about them especially when you hire an experienced and professional printing company to run your marketing tools such as your poster printing. Your printing company would be in the best position to advice you on how to go about the printing of your marketing materials. Ask your print provider for the most appropriate paper stock that would be able to give you a positive impression that can help you encourage your target clients to the value of your offer.
