Hudson valley is an attractive location to live in New York. Located in an appropriate geographical spot, the valley is close enough to the hustle and bustle of the city and nonetheless still within the reach of the beauty and serenity of the Catskill Mountains. Hudson Valley has a mixed culture of modern and old. The majestic Hudson River flows through the Hudson Valley and the locality is marked for its historical value, as many Revolutionary era landmarks are there in and around the valley.
Quaint little towns have sprung up on either side of the banks along the Hudson River and there is an annual flow of tourists during the spring and summer months. These people flock to this place to visit, sightsee, and buy antiques or to only enjoy the ambiance of the small town and enjoy over dinner and drinks. Living for longer duration is enjoyable.

The Hudson Valley is culturally affluent and steeped in history. Many revolutionary war battles during the American War for Independence were fought in this region and several famous events took place here in that turbulent period. Many houses still in existence in this area that have hosted the famous General George Washington and today are mute witnesses of that bygone era. Middle and lower Hudson valley is representative of great art and culture. This deep connection with arts has attracted many artists to set up studios in this region.
Putnam County in Hudson Valley is a spiritual center. It houses Graymoor, which is house to the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Atonement. The other is Chuang Yen monastery where people and animal stay peacefully. An amazing place, signifying unity in diversity in an all-pervasive tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.
This is good vacation spot for tourists. The Fahnestock State Park is located here and the Bear Mountain is just across the Hudson River in Rockland County. The park is naturally endowed and you can go for picnicking in the open fields, fish in the lakes or go hiking with your family. The Bear Mountain is a liked destination for camping, swimming, hiking or only enjoying a family day out in the zoo, playground or lakes.
Transport facilities are convenient as the Metro north train system runs through the Hudson Valley from Poughkeepsie to New York City. This makes it easy for commuters to get from place to place along the river towns and most ideal by those who live in the suburbs but work in the city.
