E-books or 'electronic books' are causing a quiet revolution in our modern-day lives. Thus what are e-books exactly? And why do I say they're inflicting a revolution? For hundreds of years, we have been used to paper books - scaling down valuable trees to make the paper pulp, then paper, putting it through elaborate printing processes to make the marks that we understand as words and contours and dots to make images.
The printing press was an enormous development, enabling mass production, significantly of daily newspapers. The digital revolution has affected printing too, the topic of another article, but I will keep on with e-books here.
