Payment in Advance Makes Sense

Years ago, gas prices were below $2 per gallon. Had someone been savvy enough to work out an agreement to prepay for gasoline at that rate, they could utilize tremendous savings today. Economic changes seem to bring about these kinds of opportunities all the time for consumers, many lamenting that had they been able to forecast the future, they would be rich indeed.

Purchasing a prepaid phone card is a smart investment just like pre-purchasing gas would have been five or ten years ago. Prepaid phone cards work a lot like postage stamps, commodities, utilities and many other goods that can be purchased in advance. However, with prepaid calling cards, the purchaser is guaranteed that their rate will remain the same: the amount of minutes you pay for will be the amount of minutes you can use now or in the future.

Wondering if items will increase over time, some consumers avoid purchasing prepaid calling cards believing that local and long distance rates will increase or decrease over time. They worry that the minutes they purchase today may go down in value.

Historically, the prices for goods, especially electric, water and gas utility costs have gone up in rates. But, purchasing a prepaid pone card can lock-in the local and long distance calling rates. Once the card is purchased, the lender will not change the number of minutes or the per minute rate. This way, if prices per call do go up, you remain immune to the change in cost.

Most consumers do not purchase prepaid calling cards in large quantities of minutes, so they may not notice only small fluctuations in price. But, prepaid phone cards are also available with a larger number of minutes for callers desiring to fix the cost of calls. The cards are very flexible and allow the caller to reach any landline or cell number via a simple 1-800 number.

So plan ahead, and purchase a prepaid phone card to lock in the savings with the flexibility and security of using a calling card anywhere.
