Coronado Island is one of the most desirable places in all of the country-thousands of tourists and locals spend time in this quaint little town regardless of season. Coronado’s Municipal Beach has been voted among the most beautiful beaches in the country numerous times, and is always a contender for the top spot in California as well. There are plenty of great things to do on Coronado Island, so whether you’re visiting for a day, or planning a month-long trip, you will never run out of things to do on Coronado Island.

If this will be your first trip, you will have to find a place to stay, and there are many Coronado California hotels to choose from. From the grandiose Hotel del Coronado, to the quaint Coronado Inn boutique, you are sure to find a place that suits your needs. If you are headed out during the busy season, be sure to book your Coronado hotel reservations in advance, since it can be difficult to find last minute accommodations.

Restaurants

The small town of Coronado has plenty of restaurants to offer, but the fun certainly does not stop there. Head off the beaten path a little bit and you will find some places to eat. From Japanese and Thai to Mexican and Italian, you can find a touristy spot or a local fine dining establishment in every genre.

Sightseeing

Head to the end of Coronado and you will find Ferry’s Landing Marketplace. There are plenty of shops and eateries to choose from, so bring the kids and make a day of it! There is even a little grassy lawn and sandy beach for lounging and picnicking.

Activities

San Diego is known for being one of the most active cities in the country, and the neighborhood of Coronado is no exception. There are tons of bikers, and joggers all over the island, as well as parks with pickup games of ultimate Frisbee, football, and more. Rent a beach cruiser for the day and take a leisurely bike ride around the island, or walk along the beach with your family and dog! With plenty of great areas to outside activities, you’ll never have to venture far from your Coronado hotel to have a great time.
