San Diego was dubbed America’s Finest City for a reason, and Coronado is the epitome of that title. With five beautiful beaches, luxurious hotels and excellent dining establishments, Coronado never fails to impress even the harshest critics. There are over a dozen different accommodations available on the island, but here are a few of the best Coronado hotels in San Diego.

Hotel del Coronado: Probably the best-known Coronado hotel in San Diego, the Hotel del is more of a luxurious resort than anything else. The rates are much higher than most hotels in San Diego, but the experience is certainly one to remember. This resort abuts the sandy paradise of the Municipal Beach, which has been voted one of the best beaches in the country numerous times.

Coronado Inn: This quaint, boutique-style hotel is family owned and operated, and feels a bit like a bed and breakfast. They pride themselves on being the most affordable hotel on the island while maintaining the highest quality service and most luxurious experience. If you are interested in a 5-star experience, but you’re looking for low Coronado hotel rates, the Coronado Inn is the best choice for you.

Glorietta Bay Inn: Another avoidance of commercialism is displayed at the Glorietta Bay Inn. It was first built as the mansion of the famous business mogul, John D. Spreckels, and has since been converted to an old-timey inn with charms from the early 1900’s and comforts of the 21st century. Many rooms provide kitchenettes, and there are even babysitting services. Take the whole family along for a magical trip.

Loews Coronado Bay Resort: Located on the private peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Diego Bay, this resort offers some of the best panoramic views on the island. This hotel offers Gondola rides, movies at the pool, and easy access to the Silver Strand State Beach. Despite its close proximity to the beaches and ocean, this resort has some of the best pool facilities around, allowing you to bask in the beautiful San Diego sunshine at your convenience.
