In step with the Vedhic faith of sanathana dharma Wedding forms an vital part in the life of a man. The householder stage,is that the second of the four stages of life begins when a person and a lady marry and begin a household.
The ancient Hindu Wedding customs, "Vivahaa" , date back over thousands of Years ago. The wedding ceremony known as Vivahaa in Sanskrit, means that "that which carries us along."
A Hindu repays his debt to his/her ancestors only by his marriage and thereby continues the family tree. Therefore a marriage may be a non secular growth to a Hindu. The couples don't seem to be mere partners however are soul mates who will direct the energy into the progress of their souls through the event of marriage.
Eight sorts of marriages

Historians have documented eight completely different types of marriages in ancient India. These eight types are described during this section. Considering the procedure of wedding prevalent in several countries, Manu has divided the marriage into eight completely different divisions.
The eight wedding sorts well are:
"Brahma Marriage"
The daddy or guardian chooses a bridegroom well versed within the Vedas and endowed in noble qualities and provide away his daughter, "decked with pricey clothes and jewels".
"Daiva Wedding"
A rare case where the daughter with ornaments was married to a priest in return for performing some vital worship rituals.
"Arsha Wedding"
Bride's father as a token of respect received a gift of a milking cow and a breeding bull from the groom.
"Prajaapaatya Wedding"
In order to perform the specified duties, the daughter is given to the groom with the blessing "Could each of you perform your duties together"
"Gaandharva Wedding"
The traditional kind of affection marriage where the lovers married secretly without the knowledge of their parents. Since this originates due to lustful impulses, this was considered inferior.
"Asura Wedding"
This was something like literally buying the bride where the groom voluntarily gave massive wealth to the bride's relatives, not in accordance with the injunctions of the scriptures.
"Raakshasa Wedding"
This can be another inferior methodology where the powerful groom thanks to the lustful impulses forcibly remove the bride from her family and then force her to marry.
"Paishacha Marriage"
A Person when marries a woman who is in an exceedingly seduced state, while she was asleep, intoxicated or insane, that was prohibited.
Ancient India did not authorize all of the varieties of marriages. The first four sorts were accepted to varying degree and therefore the later four were condemned. In continuously, Indian culture perpetually favoured and glorified the organized marriages.
The custom of marriages in India still remains central to the fabric of society. It's survived centuries and currently entering into modernization.
