Practice makes perfect, right? In order to perfect your swing, it takes time, commitment and practice. Whether your kid is trying out for his first Little League team, or you are hoping to make it to Varsity next season, practicing with training aids can make a huge difference.
Regardless of whether there are people around to play with or not, training aids can help all players hone their skills and practice without any distractions. There are plenty of different types of baseball training bats to work on various aspects of your skills. For those of you who need to practice your batting accuracy, strength, and speed, there are options to help you.

Speed: There are a few different types of small, thin bats that can help you with your speed. Practicing with these will teach you better hand-eye coordination, increase your speed, and decrease your response time. There are a few different lengths and sizes to fit your build and skill level. This helps with rotation speed and hand speed training. It can also be helpful for pre-game warm-ups.
Strength: For strength, you should choose a slightly wider and much heavier bat for your practices. These training bats are able to develop batting-specific muscles in the shoulders, arms, and hands. The weight is focused in a barrel, and also helps with hand-eye coordination. Heavy bamboo bats are another great option to add some power.
Accuracy: There are baseball bats that train you to hit the ball in the most accurate part of the barrel, for hitting power and accuracy. These are generally a little on the heavier side, with a wide barrel for guidance.
Learning how to hit is not the only way to play baseball. Part of accuracy is the place where you hit the ball, not just with the bat, but over what part of home plate. There are a few different options, such as batting trainers, to help you with this aspect of your swing as well.
There are a few different types of batting trainers and tees to choose from. There are adjustable position tees that allow you to decide where on home plate the tee is located. This way you are able to position yourself correctly for inside, center, or outside pitches. Essentially, this baseball trainer is able to cover the entire plate. Other adjustable tees allow you to position the tee anywhere across the plate, at any angle. They are a little harder to find, but can really help you practice high, low, inside, outside, and center pitches.
