As crime rates have risen over the years, so the price of home security protection systems has fallen. Prices have fallen across the board, but some of the biggest price reductions have occurred in the home surveillance camera market. Items that were once seen only in 007 movies can now be installed in your home.
Surveillance cameras now come in all sizes, the smallest, sometimes known as spy cameras, can be fitted in pens, cameras and even in a pair of sunglasses. Most sets come with various sensors and the facility to watch the footage remotely via the internet. The footage can be recorded if the camera is rigged to a DVR Security System or similar.

There are a wide range of other surveillance items you can buy along with your spy cameras. Motion sensors, motion activated cameras, digital locks. If you can fit it yourself, virtually everything is affordable. If you do need professional installation, be prepared to pay several thousand dollars to fully equip your house.
Hiring a professional can be a sensible option if you are not familiar with the installation of surveillance cameras and other security equipment. A survey by a professional can show you the best (and sometimes cheapest) route to take when beginning a home security system installation.
Sunglasses and pin spy cameras are extremely popular, but can take a bit of setting up. The wireless panel will need to be hooked up to a monitor or your computer. Even though set up can require a little technical expertise or good DIY skills at the minimum, the protection that a surveillance camera can offer to your home is amazing and as previously discussed, they are extremely affordable these days. A few hundred dollars can allow you to have a system set up and protecting your home in a weekend. It certainly makes sense to do so as crime rates continue to rise.
