Yes, undoubtedly yes! Marketing online is an ocean of unlimited choices. There are so many ways to market online, and nothing works exactly the same for everyone. Each method and strategy has its own way of being mastered. Trying to figure out online marketing by yourself, not to mention mastering a particular strategy, is just too difficult to do on your own.
You need to make sure you are learning from someone who is experienced in what you are trying to do. This can be achieved on more than a few different levels. The first and simplest way, is to find someone who is putting out beneficial content online that you can correlate too. You could become aware of this information through a general search, or from a social media post which leads you back to their blog. Explore their blog to see where they are coming from, and how they have things set up. If you like what you see, subscribe to their blog and you will be notified when they post another topic. Now you don't physically know this person yet, but you are learning from their content. This is a type of mentor at its fundamental level. However you can understand a lot if you continue to study their information.

The next way to work with an internet marketing mentor, would be to join up with this person in their particular business. This pertains to network marketers mostly. If you join up with them in their company, you get to work side by side with them. Then you can learn from them in a more personal manner. You can utilize their techniques and see how they are promoting several aspects of their company. You should on no account use the exact same wording when copying their marketing strategies, but following along side is perfectly reasonable. You can monitor their results and compare them to your own. Having a mentor as your upline who knows how to market online is extremely important.
The final way, and the most effective way hands down, is to hire a personal internet marketing mentor. This way they can take your strengths and weaknesses into consideration and build a marketing plan to suit you. Having them put this in place for you will save you countless hours of wasted time and money. Their experience trumps anything you have "read" on your own when trying to figure out the massive online marketing puzzle.
Even though hiring a marketing mentor will you yield the greatest results. Most people starting online are trying to keep their costs to a bare minimum, and don't really see this as a viable option for them. I know this is how I felt when I first started. However, in hind sight… I would have saved a lot more money if I had just hired a coach than trying to learn everything on my own. I would have gotten into profit a lot sooner learning from a personal online coach. Even having someone to just answer your technical questions is especially helpful!
Whatever path you decide to learn online marketing, make sure you have someone or something to learn from. There are many successful internet marketers, and there is no reason to try to invent the wheel- again. (However new ideas are always welcome online and can make you a lot of money too!)
If you are considering choosing an internet marketing mentor, make sure you locate one who is honest and direct. There is nothing inferior then being told what you want to hear even if it's not the truth!
