Understanding the working environment of a team is helpful. Teams go through several stages. These stages are: developing, storming, norming, carrying out, ending and celebrating.

Rules for developing a team are listed below.
Aim should be specific, clear, measurable, realistic, acceptable to members, and have an allotted time to begin and end. Suggestions from other employees when creating and wording these aims should be asked for. Write these aims down for future conversing and discussion with all members of the team.

Setup clear aims for success. Write the aims down and give them to team members.

Figure out a start and stop date for the team. Present this to all members of the team.

Consider the degree proficiency needed to accomplish the aim. Make sure someone on the team supervise the meetings. Try to bring diversity to the team. All members need to be able to attend all the meetings.

Team size and leadership is important.
Consider the cost of supplies, other items and paying members to go to the meetings.

The aim of the team, why people were chosen and how their aim will benefit the business should be discussed in the first meeting. Discuss the time frame to accomplish the aim and who will lead. The time and place of the meetings needs to be discussed as well.

Supervisors need to ensure that they are accessible to give support and resources as needed. Team’s progress should be monitored. Supervisor’s being visible and providing encouragement is essential. Supervisors also need come together with each other to make it possible for all team members to be at the meetings.
