I am doing a course specializing in graphic design, at the same time I am a very serious business man, I do my business over the internet. My customers are located in different parts of the world. To make my business run smoothly, efficiently and effectively I have started exploiting the available modern technology. I use E-commerce in selling my products.
E –commerce involves transactions where the buyer and seller come together through an electronic media that is the internet. From the initial stages a contract is made, that shows clearly the prices of the goods to be delivered, and eventually how payment is made.
E- Commerce or electronic commerce is an innovative way of doing business in the modern world. The methods of doing business are changing day after day and many businesses are transacted through the internet. E-commerce has got many benefits that business men should exploit; it also has some side effects.

Through e-commerce I am able to exploit the explosive market for my products; I am able sell books to different parts of the world. I have designed a website for my business and know my buyers are able to approach me without any obstacles. I am able to market my products via the internet, to both consumers and business men I have been able to exploit my business – to –consumer (B2C) e-commerce website to market my products. This days internet sales are growing at an alarming rate.
Through e-commerce, I am able to select the best suppliers for the products I sell regardless of their geographical location; I am also able to sell to the global market. Through e-commerce I am able to source for the best books for sale from well established suppliers, also I am able to buy my products from any part of the world. Further still my market has been widening covering new geographical locations. For example I have diversified my business operations to most parts of the world through the influence of e-commerce.
E-Commerce has greatly benefited me because of shorter transactions and fulfillment cycles. The transactions involved in e-commerce are short hence it allows me to save some time to do other pressing issues.
Also still e-commerce is associated with lower procurement administrative costs. The procurement administrative costs one incurs when making a transaction are low, therefore I will be incurring low costs by using e-commerce in my businesses. There are also reduced operational costs when I am selling my products, that is for my products to reach the consumer I don’t incur many costs.
Also still through e-commerce there is improved inventory management practices. It is easier for my business to control its stock when I use e-commerce in doing most of my transactions. Most of my records are kept in the computer therefore I take very little time to counter check them.
