Eastbourne is home to many splendid spots that offer an astounding view of nature at its finest. Among these prime spots where one can find a fresh inspiration and motivation is Beachy Head.

Beachy Head is among the most popular features of Eastbourne Downland. The said area is nestled at more than five hundred feet above the sea level. The fine place is highly prominent among the locals and the tourists alike as it is the highest chalk sea cliff in the whole of Britain. If you are an artist in search of a new insight or if you are a traveler who just wants to wander for a dose of recreation and relaxation, then a visit to Beachy Head is a must.

A headline that catches any nature tripper’s attention, the reasons for this cliff’s fame may vary. However, its popularity commonly leans on the fact that it offers its guest one of the most breathtaking panoramic views from atop a cliff.

Once you get to it, your eyes can feast on variety of splendid must sees on the east. From atop, you will be able to see several of the most splendid beaches around the area, along with the town of Eastbourne. You can also get a clear view of the Pier, the Harbour, Pevensey Bay and the Dungeness in Kent on bright sunny days.

Turning your view to the west, Beachy Head gives you a glimpse of life in as far as seventy miles away from its location. At the cliff, you can see Seaford Head, Newhaven, Brighton and Selsey Bill. During clear days, one can even get a glimpse of the outline of the Isle of Wight.

No matter if you are on a solo soul searching journey, a romantic trip with your loved one, or if you are for a bonding moment with your friends or your wife and kids, Beachy Head will welcome you with open arms.

To get to Beachy Head, there are a variety of options available for the tourist on a road adventure. If you have a car, just take the steeply winding road of Duke’s Drive from the seafront in Eastbourne. You can also head on the Meads Road from Meads and East Dean Road from Old Town. If you’re headed to Beachy Head from the west, then just keep your eyes open for the signs on the A259.

Once you are in prime destination, you can opt to park your car near the area or at the public car park. Other than taking a drive, you can also reach Beachy Head by riding the Eastbourne buses that awaits commuters at the seafront from the Sovereign Centre.

If you think that Beachy Head is just a prime spot for literally “looking around”, then think again. The place also offers the Beachy Head Pub. The Beachy Head Pub is open every day of the week. Aside from the indoor and outdoor play equipment, the pub offers a wide range of Eastbourne food.

Visit also the Countryside Centre at the peak of Beachy Head for a free walk tour of the Downland Experience, a visit at the Sussex Gallery and to buy some souvenirs.
