The fair giants of construction

Think about the pyramids, for example: the proceedings followed by the ancient Egyptians to build them still remain a mystery, though they actually are there, and stay stable and strong on their land. Nowadays the constructing proceedings not only are clear, but they are also widely studied as to result as rapid as possible, and most of all safe: they are used every day for the load movements by various kinds of craves, depending on the loads and on where they are. For example, many buildings are constructed using a tower crane, that is the one commonly thought to be the most classical crane of all; the people who work with them, though, of course know many other types of cranes: crawler, telescopic, floating and many other kinds of cranes, that are used in different situations depending on load, terrains and the kind of movement that is needed.
Those who work in the building area must always be up to date with the latest news, that follow not only the new technological possibilities, but also the legal rules that regulate constructions and the safety on workplaces: it’s a topic more and more treated, to give all the possible protection to the construction workers category that, by force of circumstances, often have to work in conditions of great risk. Hence, the news are always many: railroad cranes, all terrain cranes, level luffing cranes, and so on: a labyrinth that the builders manage daily to improve their activity in terms of working rapidity and workers safety.
Rapidity and safety, in fact, are basic elements in the building area, and are complementary with a stupefying precision in the movement of huge loads: we are talking about weights that reach many thousands of kilos (think, for example, about the ships’ containers, already heavy when they are unloaded) and are raised, moved and laid down again in the precise place where they have to arrive. To move the load with the cranes they calculate height, times and the wideness of the movement, together with the oscillations due to the movement itself and by the winds, that have their influence mostly on the lighter loads – remind that, though they may considered “light” for cranes, they remain heavy or impossible to raise in any other way...
In the case of the ship containers the floating and gantry cranes become fundamental, thanks to their particular form and the extraordinary loading capabilities; they are daily used in the commercial ports and are absolutely necessary to move the loads that the marine giants brought to destination or are about to take away.

What fascinates the most about cranes is right their capability to move unimaginable loads: it’s just as if they transformed them into foam. What makes them safe, instead, is right the fact that there’s no magic: the loads stay heavy, but they are raised by fair giants bigger and stronger than them.
